Localisation data can be transmitted via Bluetooth beacons based on Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) in an energy-optimised manner - thanks to low power consumption and protocol optimisation for low transmission rates, operating times of well over a year can be achieved without changing the batteries. This ensures extremely low maintenance costs.


A BLE beacon is a wireless device that periodically sends a Bluetooth Low Energy Advertising Packet, which is received by a portable device, in this case the funktel TETRA and mobile phone terminals, and used to determine the position. This makes it possible to provide the mobile user with "context-related" information.
